Deodorizing Essential Oils
The biggest question we get asked at this time of year, “how can I deodorize naturally AND effectively in the summer heat?”
Enter, deodorizing essential oils
Our favourite essential oils that fight odour and freshen the skin: Cypress, Geranium Rose, Lemongrass, Juniper Berries, Palmarosa, Spa
Essential Oils to Avoid in the Summer Sun
Certain essential oils, specifically some of the expressed citrus oils, run the risk of photosensitivity when applied to the skin before exposure to the sun. To be on the safe side, we recommend removing these oils from your skincare routine during the summer months.
Angelica Root, Bergamot, Grapefruit, Lemon, Lime (expressed)*, Bitter Orange**
*Our Lime essential oil is not expressed, it’s steam distilled, making it sun-safe
**Our Sweet & Blood Orange are varieties that are not considered to be photosensitizing
