we made this Peppermint Chocolate Foot Scrub at a workshop last year and it was a huge hit! smells delicious and leaves your feet silky soft.
the yummy secret behind this scrub is the cocoa absolute, which we offer in limited quantities bottled from our apothecary ;)
Ingredients (approx. 1–2 uses):
- 2 tbsp raw honey (base + humectant)
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder (soft exfoliation + richness)
- 1 tbsp finely crushed dried peppermint leaf (grind it a bit so it’s not too coarse)
- 6–8 drops peppermint essential oil
- 3–5 drops cocoa absolute
Method
- Lightly grind the dried peppermint so it’s more of a coarse powder than sharp flakes.
- Mix honey + cocoa powder until smooth and paste-like.
- Stir in the peppermint herb.
- Add essential oils and mix thoroughly.
How to Use
- Apply to damp feet (best after a soak or shower).
- Massage in circular motions for 1–2 minutes.
- Let sit another 2–3 minutes for the honey to soften skin.
- Rinse well and pat dry.
A few important notes:
- Peppermint EO is strong—this dilution (~1–1.5%) is effective but still comfortable. If your skin is sensitive, drop it to 4–5 drops.
- Grinding the herb matters—large pieces can feel scratchy rather than exfoliating.
- This is a fresh, wet scrub (because of honey), so it’s best made per use or kept in the fridge and used within a few days.
Optional tweak (if you want it more “scrubby”)
If you find it too soft, add:
- 1 tbsp fine sugar or very fine salt
That’ll turn it from a gentle polish into a proper exfoliating scrub.
