we made this Peppermint Chocolate Foot Scrub at a workshop last year and it was a huge hit! smells delicious and leaves your feet silky soft.
the yummy secret behind this scrub is the cocoa absolute, which we offer in limited quantities bottled from our apothecary ;)
Ingredients (approx. 1β2 uses):
- 2 tbsp raw honey (base + humectant)
- 1 tbsp cocoa powder (soft exfoliation + richness)
- 1 tbsp finely crushed dried peppermint leaf (grind it a bit so itβs not too coarse)
- 6β8 drops peppermint essential oil
- 3β5 drops cocoa absoluteΒ
Method
- Lightly grind the dried peppermint so itβs more of a coarse powder than sharp flakes.
- Mix honey + cocoa powder until smooth and paste-like.
- Stir in the peppermint herb.
- Add essential oils and mix thoroughly.
How to Use
- Apply to damp feet (best after a soak or shower).
- Massage in circular motions for 1β2 minutes.
- Let sit another 2β3 minutes for the honey to soften skin.
- Rinse well and pat dry.
A few important notes:
- Peppermint EO is strongβthis dilution (~1β1.5%) is effective but still comfortable. If your skin is sensitive, drop it to 4β5 drops.
- Grinding the herb mattersβlarge pieces can feel scratchy rather than exfoliating.
- This is a fresh, wet scrub (because of honey), so itβs best made per use or kept in the fridge and used within a few days.
Optional tweak (if you want it more βscrubbyβ)
If you find it too soft, add:
- 1 tbsp fine sugar or very fine salt
Thatβll turn it from a gentle polish into a proper exfoliating scrub.
