Botanical Alchemy Workshop: Plant Medicine & Home Pharmacy

Learn practical skills for using everyday herbs and flowers to create natural medicines, home remedies, and botanical preparations to support the health and wellbeing of yourself & those you care about.

Working with a diverse range of fresh seasonal plant material, students will gain hands-on experience crafting traditional and modern herbal preparations including tinctures, oxymels, shrubs, syrups, gummies, infused honeys, distillates, glycerites, powders, and more.

This workshop introduces foundational herbal extraction and preservation techniques while focusing on practical ways to use botanicals to support the everyday health and wellness needs of you and your family. Participants will learn how to create simple, effective herbal preparations for common day-to-day concerns, while exploring how herbs can be incorporated into home remedies, wellness practices, and culinary creations. Along the way, we’ll cover herb selection, harvesting, preparation methods, flavour balancing, and formulation principles in a hands-on and approachable setting.

In-Person Workshop

Students attending in person will work directly with an abundant selection of fresh plant material and participate in guided hands-on preparations throughout the workshop. Everyone will make and take home a number of products catered to their specific needs.

Online Workshop Option

We’ll also be offering an online version of the workshop for those who would like to participate from home. Online students will receive the full course material in a digital format along with guidance on what plant material to harvest or source locally and how to prepare it ahead of time.

The online option also includes a live one-hour online tutorial and Q&A session where students can ask questions, troubleshoot preparations, and follow along with key techniques.
